I have a small stash of them but happened to be doing an online crop lately and HAD to use one... now I see that they are also pretty being used so I am going to start using them more often (and then I can buy more...ha ha ha!) <div> </div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SiSZJvK6PHI/AAAAAAAAAKw/XO25av16IO0/s1600-h/IMG_7408.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342563450528349298" style="WIDTH: 235px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 236px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SiSZJvK6PHI/AAAAAAAAAKw/XO25av16IO0/s320/IMG_7408.JPG" border="0" /></a>the flowers and title are chipboard; a punch was used to do the bottom of the red mat, then I used white cardstock behind the black die cut paper.<br /><div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-7381489515686719757?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-18284944641048124612009-05-20T19:32:00.000-07:002009-05-20T19:36:35.864-07:00Let's Use Some Old Paper! So, are you like me and have a stash of paper a mile high?? Come on... I know you do! I dug deep and found some Scenic Route paper that says... 2003 on the back and it was perfect for this layout...<br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/ShS9sptf8aI/AAAAAAAAAKg/iYFVY2dZe3o/s1600-h/IMG_7393.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338100033149464994" style="WIDTH: 318px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/ShS9sptf8aI/AAAAAAAAAKg/iYFVY2dZe3o/s320/IMG_7393.JPG" border="0" /></a>This is my grandmother, who was an actress, in 1945. I had been hanging onto this paper just for this purpose and only have one more sheet of it... and lots of photos - so I will be digging deep again! Colleen... I will be coming over to the store for sure soon and going through your collection!</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-1828494464104812461?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-88933613035036766062009-05-05T23:47:00.000-07:002009-05-05T23:52:29.803-07:00It's Been AwhileBut I've been busy working on a little Easter mini album! I just love these little chipboard houses - you can do so much with them. I've also used Scenic Route's Lyden papers and some chipboard shapes as well as the Lynden Easter Cardstock Stickers. My grandaughter had a great time hunting for Easter eggs and loves it when she can look through the mini books I've made for her, that's the great thing about them, they are easy for small hands to hold! <div> </div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SgEzciZD2CI/AAAAAAAAAKY/ADPpTnIt9u8/s1600-h/IMG_7331.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332599999144646690" style="WIDTH: 307px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SgEzciZD2CI/AAAAAAAAAKY/ADPpTnIt9u8/s320/IMG_7331.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-8893361303503676606?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-69817269690470216512009-04-18T21:27:00.000-07:002009-04-18T21:34:33.828-07:00Layout Using Older PaperI have been doing a challenge at another site using older papers and embellishments. I've always loved Basic Grey's lines and have lots of the older ones stashed in my scrap room just waiting for that perfect photo. Here's one I've just finished, using some of the Oh Baby collection; it just seemed to be the perfect paper for this little sweetie!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Seqo1PK2mEI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/lc4dBO5nMIg/s1600-h/163.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326255141877618754" style="WIDTH: 318px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Seqo1PK2mEI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/lc4dBO5nMIg/s320/163.JPG" border="0" /></a>The photo is mounted on the hidden part of the chipboard flower so 'floats' off the paper. I used thickers lettering and painted it pink, then coated it with glossy accents.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-6981726969047021651?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-24916480767635181632009-04-01T21:13:00.000-07:002009-04-01T21:19:33.938-07:00I think it's time for ...A christmas layout!<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SdQ7tbFVzsI/AAAAAAAAAKI/i_osdNR5oS4/s1600-h/tea+party.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319942711381708482" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 314px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SdQ7tbFVzsI/AAAAAAAAAKI/i_osdNR5oS4/s320/tea+party.jpg" border="0" /></a>for some reason it looks a little dull - my lighting is not so great! This is some Basic Grey Dasher paper: Peppermint Stick and Yule Log... I love that there is a little pink in it to go with the photo of the cup (which is raised up on pop dots). I used some pink gems on the journaling strips too. The snow flake is a Technique Tuesday chipboard shape covered with the Peppermint stick paper.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-2491648076763518163?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-26996336969228428672009-03-22T15:25:00.000-07:002009-03-22T15:36:20.256-07:00Pocket CookieI love this photo of Maria... I made her a dress and panties one summer and put a cookie in the pocket - she loved the dress and the cookie but thought she had to leave the cookie in the pocket so she is eating it while it is still in the pocket!! <div><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sca7Q8rJc2I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/kE9-A2Lc6bw/s1600-h/Pocket+Cookie.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316142309996852066" style="WIDTH: 318px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sca7Q8rJc2I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/kE9-A2Lc6bw/s320/Pocket+Cookie.JPG" border="0" /></a>This layout uses Basic Grey's sugared 'beloved'; Perhaps 'East of the Sun' and Infuse 'Sugar' alphabet stickers (mounted onto paper and cut out). Also, I had a heart chipboard shape left over from a Basic Grey card kit so covered it with paper. I am always amazed at how different lines, of different years, of Basic Grey can be combined. I guess that's why it's my favorite!</div><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sca7RHVqkUI/AAAAAAAAAKA/KBmDgkl_EdI/s1600-h/Pocket+Cookie+close+up.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316142312859537730" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sca7RHVqkUI/AAAAAAAAAKA/KBmDgkl_EdI/s320/Pocket+Cookie+close+up.JPG" border="0" /></a>I sanded the edges of the photo to give it a slightly distressed look; I ripped the 'beloved' paper and curled the edges; used a chipboard shape from my stash and painted it with Making Memories 'spotlight', added some crackle finish and when it was dry painted it with 'manila'.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-2699633696922842867?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-49703949275391952502009-03-10T21:26:00.000-07:002009-03-10T21:34:31.410-07:00Time for a LayoutI often have trouble with 'boy' layouts... I have the photos but don't always know what to do when it comes to doing a layout with them. The 'archaic' line of Basic Grey's is perfect for boys, not only are there dinosaurs but lots of different shapes on the papers... and they are slightly distressed too! <div><div>This layout (which is really 12 x 12 and not as oddly shaped as the photo looks) uses 'rusty', 'boulder' and 'pods' and bazzill 'sienna'. I've added some lettering which is CI's Blueprint ABC stickers as well as some chipboard shapes covered with the paper.<br /></div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zAbIaVI/AAAAAAAAAJg/yLQ6Nu6jI1o/s1600-h/IMG_6824.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311783331514837330" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 292px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zAbIaVI/AAAAAAAAAJg/yLQ6Nu6jI1o/s320/IMG_6824.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zABNyCI/AAAAAAAAAJo/3KCoQMsDXTc/s1600-h/IMG_6825.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311783331406137378" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zABNyCI/AAAAAAAAAJo/3KCoQMsDXTc/s320/IMG_6825.JPG" border="0" /></a>Here are some close ups of the shapes I've used.</div><div> </div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zQelwjI/AAAAAAAAAJw/gcAVYYwa9nk/s1600-h/IMG_6826.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311783335824310834" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sbc-zQelwjI/AAAAAAAAAJw/gcAVYYwa9nk/s320/IMG_6826.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-4970394927539195250?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-37606625060020721092009-03-04T18:33:00.000-08:002009-03-04T18:46:24.289-08:00You are my Sunshine MiniI've been working on this mini album for awhile and using up some of that great Scenic Route Metropolis paper that I've been hoarding!<br /><br /><div><div><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87IXqkbkI/AAAAAAAAAJA/CTkMG3k5FB8/s1600-h/You+are+my+sunshine.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309527500670660162" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 248px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87IXqkbkI/AAAAAAAAAJA/CTkMG3k5FB8/s320/You+are+my+sunshine.JPG" border="0" /></a> And, here are a few of the pages inside: </div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87U7zkN9I/AAAAAAAAAJI/plU8ghxTY7k/s1600-h/IMG_6773.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309527716530501586" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 199px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87U7zkN9I/AAAAAAAAAJI/plU8ghxTY7k/s320/IMG_6773.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87gLp_zMI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Yo9CkgIA1j0/s1600-h/IMG_6776.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309527909763894466" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 194px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87gLp_zMI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Yo9CkgIA1j0/s320/IMG_6776.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div></div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87sQNeY2I/AAAAAAAAAJY/32dXPyWPTwQ/s1600-h/IMG_6777.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309528117144871778" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 166px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/Sa87sQNeY2I/AAAAAAAAAJY/32dXPyWPTwQ/s320/IMG_6777.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div>I've also used some of the chipboard shapes in my hoard and covered them with leftover bits of paper; there are also a few flowers scattered here and there. So... we are in the testing stage right now and if it can't be fixed up how we want it, we will look elsewhere. I, for one, would like it to be simple and easy to use!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-8519105665581274451?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-78595670729376200252009-02-10T11:30:00.000-08:002009-02-10T11:33:10.731-08:00Beautiful Basic Grey!Look what Colleen made! These two little albums use Basic Grey's 'bittersweet' papers. I found them really easy to work with no matter the type of photos I was using. The first are with old photos of my Mum and Dad and done in sepia and I've cut the album apart (available in the store) and added a ring binding and lots of covered chipboard shapes throughout the album. I left the binding unembellished so the paper was the focus along with the covered chipboard shape you can see here on the lower half of the heart.<br /></div><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOV-yvtLI/AAAAAAAAAII/hkxTshNROZU/s1600-h/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+cover.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299204419839046834" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 314px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOV-yvtLI/AAAAAAAAAII/hkxTshNROZU/s320/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+cover.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOVxV8kYI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/AYlq9N3Do_w/s1600-h/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+pg+4.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299204416228594050" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 173px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOVxV8kYI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/AYlq9N3Do_w/s320/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+pg+4.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div></div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOWC2d7AI/AAAAAAAAAIY/zOOWvbmZWbY/s1600-h/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+pg+5.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299204420928400386" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 178px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SYqOWC2d7AI/AAAAAAAAAIY/zOOWvbmZWbY/s320/Heart+-+Mum+and+Dad+-+pg+5.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div><br />This album is for those sweet little photos! Also, we have some projects done to upload so stand by with some of the latest of Basic Grey's paper line. Here is a project using the Wassail paper - a great way to save and preserve those Christmas memories. The knob and plate are from 7 Gypsies and I've used a metal DVD tin - inside there is an accordian folded album made with cardstock and more paper. <div><div><br /><div></div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw32f5aHSI/AAAAAAAAAHw/ImcqeM59qQU/s1600-h/IMG_6094.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290665071668239650" style="WIDTH: 249px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw32f5aHSI/AAAAAAAAAHw/ImcqeM59qQU/s320/IMG_6094.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw4Q_GdY0I/AAAAAAAAAH4/Oy6lIJamHH8/s1600-h/Christmas+Wassail+Album+(7).JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290665526721078082" style="WIDTH: 268px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 285px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw4Q_GdY0I/AAAAAAAAAH4/Oy6lIJamHH8/s320/Christmas+Wassail+Album+(7).JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw4iiPqzeI/AAAAAAAAAIA/YX9maGhyHWo/s1600-h/Christmas+Wassail+Album+(3).JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290665828212723170" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 181px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SWw4iiPqzeI/AAAAAAAAAIA/YX9maGhyHWo/s320/Christmas+Wassail+Album+(3).JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div> </div><div>If you'd like this project and want the paper, check out the website at</div><div><a href="http://www.dragonflyscrapbooking.com/shopping.html">http://www.dragonflyscrapbooking.com/shopping.html</a></div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-8879705677034797837?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-65004751927511586342008-11-30T19:37:00.001-08:002008-11-30T21:03:45.019-08:00I've been busy! For the past month I've been busy making a gift for my grandkids mother... a whole box of mini albums - there are 11 - one for each year starting in 1994 when the first child was born and ending with two for 2004 when the <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>last child was born (I'll catch up to date on the next gift giving day!). The two older kids have spent a lot of time with us on their own since the youngest was 4 (now almost 15!) so she has missed a lot of things we have done. I am a chipboard addict...yes, I'll admit it, I love chipboard - I cover it with paper, paint in, ink it and hoard it. Recently I was challenged to make a mini album with pieces of it and found that I now have a new addiction - no, not just mini albums but mini albums made with different shapes together! Here are a few pages of my inspiration album! <br /><br /><div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRkzOZ3hK4I/AAAAAAAAAFY/1gALs2soMKc/s1600-h/IMG_5388.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267297561741437826" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 205px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRkzOZ3hK4I/AAAAAAAAAFY/1gALs2soMKc/s320/IMG_5388.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRkznmJPWlI/AAAAAAAAAFg/dkuIYD37NOY/s1600-h/IMG_5389.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267297994533722706" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 198px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRkznmJPWlI/AAAAAAAAAFg/dkuIYD37NOY/s320/IMG_5389.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRk0G_B7ybI/AAAAAAAAAFw/DASJIflGo3E/s1600-h/IMG_5393.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267298533789911474" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRk0G_B7ybI/AAAAAAAAAFw/DASJIflGo3E/s320/IMG_5393.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRk0cByngiI/AAAAAAAAAF4/xEnZUqD0U4g/s1600-h/IMG_5395.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267298895308227106" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 153px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SRk0cByngiI/AAAAAAAAAF4/xEnZUqD0U4g/s320/IMG_5395.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-3631749217983404678?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-76622860060653616172008-11-09T21:59:00.000-08:002008-11-09T22:03:33.871-08:00Hello Everyone!Well.. the Creative Expo was a lot of fun (and a lot of work!) and worth every minute. We are now going to have to get busy and update the Dragonfly Scrapbooking website as the sale items just flew off the table and out of the boxes! Kits went too which was a nice surprise. Thanks Colleen for letting me 'play' with you and help at the store!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-7662286006065361617?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-54600907821905228122008-10-31T20:12:00.000-07:002008-10-31T20:18:55.871-07:00Time Flies! When you're having fun....and it's fun I've been having creating some things for the creative expo starting on November 7 at Canada Place... here are some sneak peeks! <div><div><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvKSx72P-I/AAAAAAAAAFQ/Kk-AQPZZkf4/s1600-h/IMG_5382.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263523013503369186" style="WIDTH: 287px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvKSx72P-I/AAAAAAAAAFQ/Kk-AQPZZkf4/s320/IMG_5382.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvJ_GQg7mI/AAAAAAAAAFI/fK1iDiIQ3Dw/s1600-h/IMG_5480.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263522675361377890" style="WIDTH: 229px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvJ_GQg7mI/AAAAAAAAAFI/fK1iDiIQ3Dw/s320/IMG_5480.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvJqt3GflI/AAAAAAAAAFA/a1BO1yfaBzE/s1600-h/IMG_5280.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263522325214953042" style="WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SQvJqt3GflI/AAAAAAAAAFA/a1BO1yfaBzE/s320/IMG_5280.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-5460090782190522812?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-62148627559821114492008-10-26T21:39:00.000-07:002008-10-26T21:42:48.979-07:00First Haircut<div>Here's a recent layout...my grandson's first haircut - using some of the older Basic Grey paper... and chipboard lettering. I've just about got the whole room messed up and think it's time to get busy cleaning it up! Do any of you find that you can only get so far and then you have to clean up before the inspiration hits you again? I am constantly reorganizing and finding new things... old ones really and that brings me to another dilemma... to use up my stash or to horde it and buy new things!?<br /><br />How many of you have a horrendous stash? And what do you find yourself 'saving' to use for that perfect photo!? I'm a chipboard junkie myself and have drawers and drawers of it... I just need that perfect photo... ha ha ha!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-1360090604217782241?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-60700673022787060162008-10-15T14:49:00.000-07:002008-10-15T14:59:56.698-07:00A Busy Time!Between holidays I've been busy scrapbooking and creating mini books for the upcoming "BC Creative Expo at Canada Place in Vancouver on November 7 &amp; 8. Dragonfly Scrapbooking will be there and so will I... I'd love to meet any of you living in the area (no, I don't own the store!). There will be a make and take and lots of interesting things to browse through. Here is part of a little project that will probably be a kit:<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SPZmryVg3RI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/Xp7G0-KFiz4/s1600-h/IMG_5297.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257502517434047762" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SPZmryVg3RI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/Xp7G0-KFiz4/s320/IMG_5297.JPG" border="0" /></a> I love this Sonoma line from Scenic Route - the colors are a little more vibrant than in this photo and there are lots of different double sided papers in the collection.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SPZncdrVMVI/AAAAAAAAAEY/Ae2Okg9Z_Ws/s1600-h/IMG_5302.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257503353702003026" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SPZncdrVMVI/AAAAAAAAAEY/Ae2Okg9Z_Ws/s320/IMG_5302.JPG" border="0" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-6070067302278706016?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-11475560107650954192008-09-29T14:33:00.001-07:002008-09-29T14:49:51.603-07:00BC Crop For KidsWhat a great time we had! I entered these into a contest for Canadian Scrapbooker magazine... they didn't get picked but that's not why I scrap so it wasn't a problem - it was just fun to do. I made the cat 3D as well as the grass is a bit loose in spots in case I want to add photos later.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SOFKRLcDYSI/AAAAAAAAAEA/3EbdB5gtJGw/s1600-h/IMG_4965.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251560299479392546" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SOFKRLcDYSI/AAAAAAAAAEA/3EbdB5gtJGw/s320/IMG_4965.JPG" border="0" /></a>This is the Basic Grey Archaic paper - I just love it, there are dinosaurs and rocks - it's just fun to work with! I've been using it to make an altered project for an Expo happening in November in Vancouver and am loving the look. It's not finished yet but here's a photo of part of it. We are making lots of new kits so stay tuned!<br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SNMSRSMnHII/AAAAAAAAADQ/_u_dWY1dmYU/s1600-h/IMG_4697.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5247558078968568962" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SNMSRSMnHII/AAAAAAAAADQ/_u_dWY1dmYU/s400/IMG_4697.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-6900960675851833096?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-54896935451918471332008-09-03T17:47:00.000-07:002008-09-03T17:50:54.320-07:00Here's a Tip!Gluing is such a messy job sometimes... so, here's a little tip to keep it under control. When you get your new phone book/yellow pages, use your old one as a 'gluing station'. Just flip the pages that are used so you have a nice clean, non sticky surface to glue something else! I like to use rubber cement and this works great.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-5489693545191847133?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-70588518069058992502008-08-13T23:25:00.000-07:002008-08-27T00:44:33.873-07:00Another Mini AlbumI hope you're not getting tired of mini albums... I love them, they are so easy to just pick up and look at. Here's one made with paper and embellishments available at the store (see the link on the sidebar!) If you'd like detailed instructions Colleen will be making up kits for this so just let her know if you are interested.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQllx-xAI/AAAAAAAAACI/hbP9ZkyDZg8/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(8).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256536150131714" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQllx-xAI/AAAAAAAAACI/hbP9ZkyDZg8/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(8).jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPREYtxJzI/AAAAAAAAADA/-oFuPVgZU-M/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(1).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234257065218746162" style="CURSOR: hand" height="236" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPREYtxJzI/AAAAAAAAADA/-oFuPVgZU-M/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(1).jpg" width="344" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPRAR8Q7hI/AAAAAAAAAC4/FLiPl0OealE/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(2).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256994681024018" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPRAR8Q7hI/AAAAAAAAAC4/FLiPl0OealE/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(2).jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQ8FdUHJI/AAAAAAAAACw/hnRKeJ1RhOA/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(3).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256922610506898" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQ8FdUHJI/AAAAAAAAACw/hnRKeJ1RhOA/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(3).jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQ33YfM0I/AAAAAAAAACo/keEPRKum6HU/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(4).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256850112688962" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQ33YfM0I/AAAAAAAAACo/keEPRKum6HU/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(4).jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQzl2VMXI/AAAAAAAAACg/m5Xj3ydCZ_8/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(5).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256776686547314" style="CURSOR: hand" height="167" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQzl2VMXI/AAAAAAAAACg/m5Xj3ydCZ_8/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(5).jpg" width="318" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQvFOE3jI/AAAAAAAAACY/eyj31aK8MiA/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(6).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256699208293938" style="CURSOR: hand" height="176" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQvFOE3jI/AAAAAAAAACY/eyj31aK8MiA/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(6).jpg" width="334" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQpxNJo0I/AAAAAAAAACQ/BftsuoPpAY4/s1600-h/Sweetheart_mini_book_(7).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234256607936357186" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SKPQpxNJo0I/AAAAAAAAACQ/BftsuoPpAY4/s320/Sweetheart_mini_book_(7).jpg" border="0" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-7058851806905899250?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-31799297227467280952008-08-02T00:21:00.000-07:002008-12-08T17:20:41.700-08:00What To Do With A Paint TinI made a similar paint can project for my daughter to hold her school memories. First I spray painted the tin with some primer and then I covered the bottom 2/3 with paper and decorated the tin with rik rak and buttons and some die cut lettering. Then I decorated the lid and added some ribbon and fibre to the handle. Inside the tin there is room for a small book - a diary - and for my daughters I first scanned all her drawings and some of her work that was saved throughout her school years and then had the scans printed 4 x 6 onto photo paper. Then I made a small photo scrapbook to fit in the tin along with those chunky little projects she brought home from school and now she has all her school memories in one tidy little tin! She loved hers - it makes a great grad gift or even decorate a tin and put in baby gifts!<br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SJQLxHWlUcI/AAAAAAAAAB4/RMMm4eIPG7w/s1600-h/Memory+Tin+(3).JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5229818005699252674" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SJQLxHWlUcI/AAAAAAAAAB4/RMMm4eIPG7w/s320/Memory+Tin+(3).JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SJQNcXOFErI/AAAAAAAAACA/0EvmMM50k3w/s1600-h/Memory+Tin.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5229819848204554930" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_TgkwaS25Wa0/SJQNcXOFErI/AAAAAAAAACA/0EvmMM50k3w/s320/Memory+Tin.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4937632218808819754-3179929722746728095?l=dragonflyscraps.blogspot.com'/></div>Lois aka katesmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12834669541225548320noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4937632218808819754.post-67052043583921280002008-07-29T12:33:00.000-07:002008-12-08T17:20:41.886-08:00Another Tin Mini Album<div><div>This celebration of Halloween was made using a small CD tin and can be held to your fridge or other metal surface with small magnets... or not!</div><div>First I covered the top of the tin with paper and then layered strips all over to give it that 'scary old boarded up house look'!
